Terry Behrens and Nolan Hughes
Wedding Day 12-Oct-03
I worked my way into 20th Century Fox Studios the last 2 years of my 20 years in Los Angeles as Set Lighting Auditor & also as Executive Assistant to VP of TV Development in Drama/Comedy. I absolutely LOVED my work!!! And, just as my career was headed where I'd worked so hard to get to, I had to return to Sacto August 1994 due to degenerative spine damage which lead to surgery in 1996 again in October 2002. I was forced to retire due to the degeneration in my spine.
I had never married & never had kids - was always the "career woman." I've come to believe that there is a reason for everything because returning to Sacramento had a definite purpose! My life was brought together with Nolan Hughes (also from our Class of '73) in 2000. It's quite a story in itself! Looks like waiting all these years paid off. I've struck it rich with this wonderful mans heart of gold. Our wedding was on October 12, 2003 ... just 1-1/2 months after our 30-Year Class Reunion. I couldn't have put my wedding together without the loving help from Julie (Covert) Instness ... she saved my wedding day! I had spent 3 years planning & working on our Class Reunion and had not even started on my own wedding! Julie was a God Send and my wedding was absolutely perfect because of her (Julie is a Wedding Planner!). She's incredible!
I'm still involved in the film, branding & casino gaming industry with Max Baer ("Jethro" from "The Beverly Hillbillies"). We are working on his casino project "Jethro's Beverly Hillbillies Mansion & Casino" (Website: http://www.jethroscasino.com/) & the Beverly Hillbillies Slot Machines. His production company, "Max Baer Productions Ltd." is also still active.
Max also gave me away at my wedding ... I had told him since I was in my 20's that if my parents were deceased by the time I got married ... that I wanted Max to give me away! Max has always been like a dad to me and has seen me through some very hard times in my life. Max is one of a kind ... I'm blessed to have him in my life!
I've
been posting memorials for Alumni for Cordova that have passed away (all
graduating classes) on the website
http://www.classmates.com/ since July 2000. It's my way of making sure
people are remembered ... even if it's but a little bit.
My life has been full & I cherish my memories ... I look forward to each new
day & live every moment of life as a gift. Just wish I was in my 20's again
but know what I know now!!!! (Grin!)
